Abuelita's Garden

The last night before we were headed home. Without saying anything, I think all of us wanted to soak up every last bit of sunshine, and together time that we could possibly get. Visits together dont come often enough, and this one was just what the Colorado girls all needed. So much love, so many sweet besos, so many smiles that reach through the entire body, into the soul. So much love...

Exploring the desert

Sweet dear smile! Sweet hermanas looking at the tiny flowers, and little hormigitas that are crawling around on the ground. Beautiful cactus, waiting for the rains to come... Dancing in the desert Running!

The natives are restless!

This was the strangest thing, until we actually learned what the heck was going on. There were 72 larger than life wooden painted horses and Indians in their full War regalia. I asked my mom about it, and she thought that I had lost my mind, having no idea what I was talking about. We came back together to check them out, and it is a traveling art display.

Backyard Hot tub

I love the relationship that these two have...there is just something about it. They are quiet, and sweet, and just have a connection that is wonderful for me to watch. I LOVE watching my baby sister, love on my baby girl.... I love the series of facial expressions on Tia throughout these photos...she was so patient, and so sweet with the girls as they played in the hot tub. I love how this last photo has Maya looking at Tia like- so, you getting wet? Am I doing that? Tee hee!

A reward for success!

After a week of doing pretty darn well with this new concept of potty training, I thought it might be a good idea to get us all out of the house! The zoo is a great little treat, any time of year, but especially when it is spring down low, and still full on winter up high! We carried a little portable potty with us in the stroller, but she never had to use it! It was a GREAT day! Nice work Maya Belle! You have just entered the world of being such a "big girl!"

An attempt at potty training!

We have tired several times to convince Maya that potty training was a good idea. This particular time cracks me up, since she has on a long john type pj top, a winter hat and some puddle boots....obviously with no chones. It is good to protect your head from the cold, your feet from possible wet situations, but you butt? That one is a little bit more optional!

So many lessons learned from a butterfly!

Brandie and Ivan gave Molly a great present for her b-day: a butterfly habitat. We were all so excited for the whole experience, and it looked so darn good in theory! Our home however, is a hostile environment for mariposas....No matter where I tried to put them, the cats repeatedly knocked their enclosure down. Out of 6 cocoons, two hatched in a way that allowed them to fly freely, the others, not so much! Molly had a BLAST at the community garden, the two butterflies go. She actually carried one of them around for about 40 mins, and took it on a bike ride...(I know, can you even imagine what that creature was thinking, or later told his little friends?) She finally set the last one go, and still enjoys talking about them- flyer and flitter.

Hand Knit fuzzies!

We are so fortunate in our family, with all the love and time that goes into so many of the girls home made clothes. Both of these sweaters were made by my mom- the kick here, is that the red one was made for me, when I was Molly's age. Pretty neat!
