Outdoor adventures

Like I have said, Steamboat has a way of getting us outside for long days of playing and adventures, no matter the time of year! Tia joined us on this particular trip, and as always, it was a great weekend! Jim suggested heading to Howlson Hill, to watch the local High School kiddos at their nordic meet. How great was that! Man are those kiddos in some great shape!

After watching the kids tear up the race track, up and down the mountain side, we created our own version- pulling the girls up the hill on their sleds, and then sledding back down! Another great day with people by which I am so lucky to be loved!

Magical Steamboat Light

I LOVE going to Steamboat.  It has always been a magical place for me.  It is the essence of safety and love in my world.  I adore and respect my Aunt and Uncle, I love their home, and just melt when I get there, and the area itself it an absolute wonderland.  It doesn't matter the season...the outdoors just pulls me...wanting me to come and play!

Now, add to that this one special bedroom, that somehow, always gifts us with a perfect, magic afternoon light, streaming in the windows onto the bed...and Voila! Perfect photos!!!!!

Ice Skating!!!

In many ways, Georgetown, is a great little town for kids to grow up in! For the second year, the rec district has made a free little ice skating rink for the kids to play on during the winter.  Kids? who am I fooling? The adults enjoy it just as much as the kids do! This particular Friday, a couple moms got together, and suggested we all go play.  Im such a rookie with things like this.  I brought a whole bunch of things to keep the girls warm-hats, mittens, warm socks etc.  The other moms brought bags of popcorn, hot cocoa, and warm chai with baileys! (double yum!) Of course everyone shared, and there was much fun and laughter to be had!
As for the skating....well, that is a bit of another story! Maya stayed bundled in the blankets, happy to eat popcorn and drink hot cocoa.  Molly did a lot of watching, and tried scooting around with a little stool. It was a great Friday afternoon!

So much fun....

This chair provided countless hours of silliness, laughter and snuggles over break. Grandpa had the best seat in the house for watching the bowl games, but his assistants kept him pretty busy.
There were doctor appointments....
bouts with the tickle monster...
rest times....
and hair appointments...
It was spectacular to just have time together. As cliche as it sounds, there is nothing in this world more important than time with the ones you love. We were lucky to have time to relax, talk, dream and catch up. I am thankful for the opportunity.
