Zoo with Grandpa

It is GREAT to go to the zoo with folks who have never been. Molly and Maya excitedly showed Grandpa all the great things there were to see. They told him about the new babies, and how they have grown over the year. They excitedly fed the lorakeets, and then took him on the carousel. It is probably a toss up as to who had more fun. Nope....actually, it is pretty clear to see who had the best time of all! Thanks for joining us Grandpa!

Polar Express!

Nana and Boppa took us to see Santa at the G-town loop on Christmas Eve day. It was a perfect Colorado day with blue skies and twinkling white snow. What a great little adventure.
There was plenty of time for snuggling on laps with new birthday babies.
And then some photo shoots with the big man himself.
I keep saying over and over that the magic of this holiday season has been a gift. The girls have reminded me of what is special and important: taking time to sing songs, to talk about the magic of it all, to enjoy the mess of frosting cookies. I am thankful to both of them for the gift of eyes filled with magic; twinkling in amazement. There are wonderful things in this world, and as an adult, I often get too caught up in my list of things to do to notice and enjoy them. Days like this remind me to look at the world through my daughters' eyes.
It is amazing how it changes when I do........

Christmas dresses

Nana got these girls darling Christmas dresses. SO cute- they just couldn't be much sweeter! Not much could make ya smile more than two sweet girls, wrapped up in the magic of Christmas, with darling dresses to top it off! Thanks for helping make the season as magical as it has been Nana!

Santa!

The holidays have been such an amazing time of year, with two sweet little girls, who enjoy all the magic. Of course, seeing Santa is part of it! This was the first of many visits with Santa we had over the weeks. Santa came to the Rec-center, and the girls sat with him, talked to him, and then did some super sweet art work! They LOVE their fancy Christmas dresses! Love these girls, and how they bring so much magic to MY life!

Santa Lucia

Santa Lucia is a fantastic tradition that the kids of G-town have been doing for centuries. It is an old Swedish tradition, that celebrates the return of the light that happens at solstice. The kids hold the stars, and sing Christmas songs. The youngest girl gets to hold the special Yulevaca, which was Molly/Maya each weekend that they participated. Haley does a fantastic job organizing, and heading this whole thing up! She wrangles the kids through streets filled with tourists, and gets the kids from point A to B, while singing, and not whacking each other with the wooden stars ! It was Great fun!

Christmas Market!

Two weeks in a row, the girls participated in Santa Lucia with the other little kids from Georgetown Charter School. The first week, we enjoyed some great strolling through the Christmas market afterwards....
Sweet horses,
warm snuggles,
hot apple cider,
smiling faces...
even reindeer!
Another fantastic day together!
